Wicked-themed light up path became the yellow brick road

As I was watching the movie Wicked, I instantly saw an opportunity to recreate the light up path that became the “Yellow Brick Road”. Since I have just the right equipment, I went to work developing the programming and set up design to make the digital sequencing that the Wizard showed to Elphaba and Glinda, as a demonstration of what we was dreaming would bring people right to him. Of course it’s a prequel to the Wizard of Oz so I fused the two together including palace guards from one movie with the light up path, giant wizard Face, faux fireworks and fog geysers from the special effects that are used within both movies. (I left out the massive fireball bursts when they first get to the room where the wizard head appears.) This was a fun thing to do and just in time for Halloween. Although it’s not in the movie, I added in one of the interactive features that our dance floor can do… Within the movie, no one walked on the path so it’s conceivable that if they did, it would also react where they stepped on it.

Thanks so much to FauxReal Flowers of Brandon, The Regent in Riverview and Dylan and Irina for playing a huge part in making this vision come to life! Take a look and let me know if you love it too.
