We had the privilege of transforming their event space into a 1970s disco palace for NYE 2025, and the result was pure magic. Here’s how we brought Studio 54 back to life for one unforgettable night.

Setting the Disco Atmosphere

The foundation of any authentic 70s disco is the lighting, and we went all out:

The Classic Mirror Ball Experience
Our 20-inch mirror ball took center stage, suspended above their New York city-scape with dedicated spotlights creating those iconic moving light reflections across the walls and ceiling. There’s something timeless about watching hundreds of light dots dance across a room—it instantly transports you to that golden era of disco.

Full Room Gobo Lighting
We installed gobo projectors throughout the room, casting geometric patterns and vintage-inspired designs on every surface. This created depth and visual interest in every corner of the space, ensuring there wasn’t a single boring wall in sight.

Sparkle Columns with Robo-Beam Lights
Six of our glowing sparkle columns were elevated on the stage, each topped with robo-beam lights that swept the room with dynamic movement. These aren’t just decorative—they create energy and excitement, especially when synchronized with the music’s peaks.

The Dance Floor Experience

Our 360 Video Booth was located just off the stage for this event, where video recordings captured their best dance moves. The combination of lighting, movement, and atmosphere made for stunning footage that our client can treasure forever.

The DJ Setup: Something Different

Here’s where things got interesting.

For this event, we debuted something we’ve been working on for a while: a transparent touchscreen DJ controller. Instead of the traditional DJ booth setup where the entertainer is hidden behind equipment, our DJ was visible through the very screen he was using to control the music.

The 55-inch transparent OLED display created this fascinating effect where guests could see the DJ working while also seeing the software interface floating in front of him. It became a conversation piece throughout the night—guests were genuinely intrigued by the technology.

The response was immediate. Within 72 hours of posting a video from the event, we saw 800,000 views and 23,000 shares across social media. People weren’t just interested in the disco theme—they were captivated by seeing DJing from a completely new perspective.
