All-Inclusive Deal

The term “all-inclusive” makes one think that everything is included, right? Well, that’s not really what it means. Yes, I’m literally talking about the term that is commonly used within the event industry to suggest a turn-key experience, perhaps at a venue or with a vendor who includes everything within one bundle. Don’t mistake this for having the literal meaning of including everything. What it really means is that it’s one price for a curated package that includes certain things. It may include the venue space, tables, chairs, linens, centerpieces, florals, musical entertainment, an officiant, food and drinks but…

Does it include your outfit? Does the package include invitations? What about special effects and wow lighting? What you might want to keep in mind is that list of included services or products is simply a bundle, not everything you might want or may choose to be part of your celebration. A light up dance floor, mariachi band, ceiling swags, backdrop, 360 video booth or candy/dessert cart are some examples of services that have almost no chance of being included within an “all-inclusive” package.

Why call it “all-inclusive” if it’s not? Because it sounds better than any other name. It exudes supremacy over any other combination or name for a bundle of services/products. Am I stating the obvious in regard to this? Possibly, but on the other hand, I like to be transparent to my clients by wording things so that there is clarity, rather than illusion. You won’t find me offering something I cannot provide. You won’t hear me talk about a service that I don’t have experience with and it won’t be me who suggests one thing but provides something completely different.

Amongst the DJs in the area, I commonly see statements like “licensed” or “fully licensed”. This is another misstatement meant to give you a warm fuzzy feeling of confidence, while in reality, there is no such thing as a DJ license in Florida. What those companies should say if they are being real, is that they have registered their business with the proper authority in the state.  Florida’s authority is called Sunbiz.org and it requires businesses of any type to register.  Corporations as well as sole proprietorships are there.  Here’s a link to see that Rhythm System Pro DJ Entertainment is registered: sunbiz.org – Florida Department of State

Could I provide an all-inclusive package?  Yes and no.  I offer services that wouldn’t make sense to all clients, all events and all themes.  UV lighting, for example, is something that I offer but unless it’s Halloween or an 80’s party, that type of lighting probably won’t make much sense to include. I also wouldn’t want to include everything we offer within a single package because it would have increased the package price but offer no value to you.  I have created several packages for your convenience but because we offer 30+ services, those combinations make sense to only a portion of our clients.  I am happy to offer you information about the services and pre-configured packages and to get you an accurate quote, specifically for your exact needs.  I’ll even itemize the list so that you can see what each service costs.  Let’s have a conversation about your party and figure out how to make it the best it can be.
